The truth is, like all jobs, you must first understand that not all companies, startups, and video game genres develop in the same way, some tend to have a different work team (in terms of quantity), this shows the number of jobs that you can go for in this industry since, first of all, you should know video game is a very broad industry and therefore, it’s possible to study a career you would not believe could be related to the production of a video game.

From programmer to screenwriter, artists, and many others, it is going to break down what could be considered "main" positions to occupy in video game development.

Screenwriter: The script is an element that cannot be missing and this is where the work of the screenwriter begins. A video game writer is responsible for developing the story, characters, and dialogue.

Artist: Video game artists are, along with programmers, some of the most in-demand professionals in the industry. A video game artist will be in charge of bringing "to life" that character and environment imagined by the screenwriter. For this, he will use 2D art, textures, 3D models, and animations of said characters and environments.

Developer: Developers work with the elements that the artists have generated, however, there are different types of programmers and they all have different specialties. There are dedicated programmers for graphics programming, engine programming, physics programming, artificial intelligence programming, and more.

Composer: What would our favorite video games be without music? Do you think that Mario Bros or Zelda would be the same without the accompanying music? It is important to know that there are also musicians and composers completely dedicated to the creation of the soundtrack for each video game.

Audio Engineer: An audio engineer is in charge of creating the sounds and environments in which video game characters move. It is probably one of the least recognized works, they are essential to creating a good video game.

And of course, each job is also broken down into some kind of specialty, for example, an artist could be a pixel art artist, a 2d artist or, 3d, etc. Keep in mind that you have to make an effort in every job, even if it’s video games!
